We were all very impressed and awed at everything that transpired at that place. What a humbling experience for so many immigrants coming to our country. Andy actually found his great-grandfather, Edward Lenaghan, in the Ellis Island archives while we were there.
We took a lot of pictures here. We had a great view of New York City and The Statue from the island.

I'm sure you've noticed that kids have on similar shirts. This was a project they worked on during Rookfest with Maddie and then they all wore them (except Nick) to New York. It made it much easier to keep track of everybody - Way to go Maddie!

The Statue of Liberty is truly an inspiring sight.
Isn't that a great pic!?? And it didn't cost you the tax payer one red cent!
This is a view from inside the Statue. We were able to go inside the pedestal and go through the museum in there and then climb to the top the the base. Of the thousands that come to the Statue everyday only 2000 are allowed to inside the pedestal and to the top of the base. Of that group only 240 are allowed to make the climb to the crown. That is the stairway you see. The tickets to the crown are hard to come by. You need to plan way in advance if you want those tickets.

After a great visit we drove back and went out for pizza - the perfect ending to a great day!
