Maintenance replaced our entire AC unit today. It took all day. Cool air began circulating at 5:00pm. The upstairs temp had reached 90 degrees at that point! It seems to be cooling quickly now. Hopefully we will be sleeping in our own house!
Our compressor blew out on our AC unit yesterday. It was 85 degrees in our bedroom last night at 10:30pm. Our neighbors across the street are in the process of moving out and are staying in temporary housing. Their mattresses are still in their house so we grabbed some bedding and slept at their house last night. Relief! This morning it is only 83 in our house. Hopefully they can get the unit replaced today. I'm melting!
I'm not sure if it is my sense of humor or what but these signs struck me funny!
Okay - I know the next picture is gross but here is the story. Nick and Maddie were outside waiting for the bus at about 6:45am. I look out the window to see them staring at the sidewalk. I went out and there was a circle of maggots on the sidewalk all marching in a clockwise direction - in a perfect circle! It was so weird! I should have taken a picture of it. I showed Isaiah and Hannah when they went out to the bus at 7:05. I went back after everyone was gone at 7:15 and the whole thing was gone. Not a trace of them anywhere. The next morning they were back in this v formation. Isn't that bizarre?!
There were no signs of food (or dead animals for that matter) on the sidewalk. Very, very gross!
I know – I am several months behind and I am going to do my best to catch up and do justice to the wonderful months that flew by since my last post.
April is an amazing month in the Causey family, made even more memorable this year with Charles’ dad turning 80!! Nathanael and his son Zach came up for the weekend to join in the celebration. Calvin and Carol came in on a surprise flight to celebrate, too! In April Maddie’s birthday is the 17th, Papa Causey’s birthday is the 18th, Zach’s birthday is the 19th and Nick’s birthday is the 27th. We’ve managed to pack them in!
We spent Saturday evening at Dad and Nadine’s having a delicious birthday supper and enjoying cake.
There were lots of gifts to open and we listened to great stories being told around the table.
Of course, Uncle Calvin was busy doing his thing.
It was a wonderful evening. The next day we all went to church with Dad and Nadine then off to Charlie's for lunch.
It was another delicious meal and the company was great! One little credit card snafu at the end of the meal but no one noticed! After the meal, everyone headed to our place for an afternoon of softball.
Papa Causey even took a turn at bat and made it to first! (He may have had a pinch runner)
The grand finale of the game was Aunt Carol's head-first slide into home plate! Wish I had a pictue of that! There was also a relaxing walk in the woods around our house.
