After birthday cake it was on to our other neighbors to watch the game (the neighbors with the "big screen" remember?) Another great dessert here. I got pictures of Erik and Rebecca's kids this time. That's Andrew posing with Isaiah and the cupcakes.
Here's a shot of Rebecca, her Hannah, and Maddie.
And last but not least is their oldest, Raquel holding Chloe and Cesar by her side.

No pictures of Erik this time. I don't know why. We had a great time together in spite of the unfortunate ending.
Another thing I was going to blog about was the relief efforts here regarding Haiti. Three men were activated from our neighborhood including Erik (from above). Their orders stated they could be away for up to six months. They left last Monday morning for Florida where they sat for a week. Mission was cancelled and they are all due back here sometime this week. What an emotional roller coaster for the families - unexpected deployment, rush to pack and getting squared away, all the good-byes and then home the next week. Everyone here is pretty frustrated for many reasons, the waste of all the resources getting many men and equipment to FL, inability for decisions to be made up the chain of command, etc. Crazy couple of weeks!
Happy New Month!
